COMPANY SUMMARY:

IMS Productions is a premier, multi-faceted, multimedia production company located in Indianapolis, Indiana just across the street from the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We are comprised of two distinct divisions: our Productions Group, who work closely with clients to bring multimedia visions of all sorts to life, and our Mobile Unit Group who supply remote broadcast solutions to network television and other clients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Truck Driver will safely transport mobile units to the remote site, with a focus on safety and professionalism. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:       

  • Performs DOT pre-trip inspection for defects and submits reports indicating truck condition. This includes:
    • Inspecting engine, maintaining fluid levels and servicing engine when necessary
    • Mobile unit presentation – washed and in presentable order
  • Perform DOT post-trip inspection truck for defects after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
  • Perform the function of any inventory post-event to ensure all gear is returned to mobile unit and in working order.
  • Maintains driver log per DOT regulations.
  • Assist engineers and crew workers in loading and unloading truck.
  • Maintains record of expenses and completes trip reports (miles driven in each state).
  • Submits receipts and reports promptly as necessary for reimbursement. All trip reports and expenses associated with event needs to be turned in within 5 working days after conclusion of event.
  • Proper credit card use & cell phone policies in place must be followed accordingly.
  • Acts as a representative of IMSP while traveling and presents a professional, courteous image always.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education

  • High school graduate or GED with combination tractor-trailer driving experience, or equivalent experience.

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar driving capacity.
  • Must possess high integrity

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.

Facility Operations/Event Staff: Conversion Crew
Seasonal: Tent Crew - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indianapolis, IN)

POSITION TITLE: Tent Crew

DEPARTMENT: Client Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Client Services

DURATION: May 2017 – August 2017

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

The tent crew position is a part of the Client Services team who specifically focuses on set-up and tear down of event venues during May and July. Assist with moving all furniture between different venues during events. Tent crew will be responsible for completing daily set-up and tear down tasks as assigned. Tent crew will work on the grounds during events.

With the Director of Client Services and Client Services team, help provide support for all IMS activities.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Manager will plan and provide administrative oversight of both people and operations impacting the daily facility maintenance, construction, renovation, repair, cleaning, and overall presentation of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  They will serve as the principal operator for multiple operations management systems that will support and drive job plans, work schedules, physical asset inventories, warranty information, event/incident management data, and operational metrics and reports. This individual will complete tasks as assigned by the Sr. Director of Facilities Planning and Management including, but not limited to, the specific duties listed below.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • With the Senior Director, Facilities Planning and Management, provides leadership for Facilities Department. 
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the Department to manage and motivate a full-time and seasonal staff. Performs yearly performance reviews with staff and makes recommendations for staff advancement, promotion or any other change of status.
  • Assists in the preparation and management of annual maintenance budget to ensure proper funding requirements are met in a timely fashion between seasons.
  • Works collaboratively with internal Departments to ensure that the highest quality of service, safety
  • Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Serves as facilities liaison on various committees.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Distribute and inventory all keys (confidential).
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plan to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Responsible for maintenance of Speedway grounds & Georgetown Realty.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Leads employees in the Facilities department; including a full-time staff of approximately 15 employees and seasonal staff.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in facilities management.

Skills/Experience

  • Five years' applicable facilities management experience.
  • Proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Outstanding time management skills including the ability to prioritize clients’ needs, projects and resources.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills to effectively manage the project data and provide detailed follow-up on requests, projects and costs.
  • Good working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, asphalt, concrete, electrical and building systems (e.g. HVAC, Fire suppression systems, etc).
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety practices associated with facility maintenance operations.
  • Experience using AutoCAD preferred.
  • High integrity and confidentiality.
  • Innovative thinker and self-starter with perseverance to lead teams to success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel/Work Hours

Having a golf course intertwined with a major motor speedway creates a unique work experience not found at many places. The Golf Course Turf Management Department is responsible for a championship conditioned golf course, while also maintaining the chemical and irrigation program for the entire motor speedway. IMS plays host to major events every year, including the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, The Indianapolis 500, The Brickyard 400, and The Red Bull Air Races. New in 2017, Brickyard Crossing will play host to the LPGA Tour’s Indianapolis Women In Technology Championship contested in September. Being tied in with IMS provides many logistical and scheduling challenges, however it also opens the door for resources that are unique to many golf courses.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Brickyard Crossing Golf Course located at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is looking for an experienced horticulturalist to help beautify and maintain landscaping throughout the facility. The horticulturalist will play a major role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of Brickyard Crossing and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Works with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, provides support for Brickyard Crossing Golf Course and all Indianapolis Motor Speedway facilities. 
  • Design, install, and maintain ornamental landscaping including annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees for the golf course and other IMS locations as directed by Superintendent or Assistant.
  • Instructs and supervises seasonal staff in routine maintenance of ornamental plantings.
  • Design and install flower beds; modify beds based on test results, cultivate shrubs and flowers.
  • Trims and prunes shrubs and trees.
  • Operates above ground and computerized irrigation satellites.
  • Calibrates chemical application equipment, measures, mixes and applies fertilizers and pesticides to ornamental plantings.
  • Identify and prevent pest utilizing an integrated pest management program. 
  • Operates all golf course maintenance, landscape maintenance, and construction related equipment.
  • Identify tree species, provide proper tree care, and suggest tree plantings in regard for climate zone.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for instructing and supervising seasonal employees on proper landscape management techniques.

Education

  • 3A Pesticide License from the Office of Indiana State Chemist
  • Bachelors, Associates, or Certificate Degree in Landscape Management from an accredited University

Skills/Experience

  • 2-4 years’ experience in the design, install, and maintenance of ornamental landscaping.
  • Experience in annual plantings/tree care needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Brickyard Crossing and IMS has a long history of promoting talented individuals through the rankings and up the chain of command. The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and the 1st Assistant Superintendent to provide championship quality conditions throughout the season while also preparing him or herself for the next step in their career.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:       

  • Assist in the management and preparation of running a 20+ person crew.
  • With the Golf Course Superintendent and 1st Assistant, provide leadership for all agronomic practices.
  • Directs and participates in the overall planning and maintenance of the golf course and other properties.
  • Programming, operation and troubleshooting computerized irrigation systems.
  • Assists in Scheduling, assigning tasks and supervising employees and their safe use of the equipment.
  • Perform calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Collaborate with mechanical staff to assist with repairs of motorized and other mechanical equipment and perform related work as required.
  • Support 1st Assistant in the Superintendent's capacity during his/her absence.
  • Manage moisture levels to championship quality conditions on playing surfaces.

  • Communicate daily and future race track schedule for morning meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Facility Operations/Event Staff: Guest Experience

Seasonal: Safety Patrol | NOW RECRUITING 2017 EVENT SEASON - Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Safety Patrol is an iconic part of Indianapolis Motor Speedway history.  This team is responsible for essential event operations that span our 988 acre facility, and help us deliver some of the most exciting events in the world.  Whether you are interested in working at the gates, in the stands or garages, directing traffic or assisting in suites, each role is crucial to success and enhances the guest experience of thousands of race-fans.   

Seasonal positions start at $8/hour with a typical work day being 8-12 hours with breaks.  

Application process includes a background check and interview.   All applicants should have a strong desire to serve race-fans and represent the IMS brand. Key qualifications include: dependability, flexibility and exceptional customer service.  Primary dates and events include:

  • INDYCAR Grand Prix – May 11-May 13

  • 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 – May 15-May 29

  • SVRA – June 8-June 19

  • Bloomington Gold – June 22-June 25

  • Brickyard 400 – July 22-July 23

  • SCCA Runoffs – Sept 17-Oct 2

Event hours are approximately 6am - 6pm with race days being as early as 4am.

The Safety Patrol operates 5 key areas at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Applicants will be placed in one of the following areas for the season:

  • STANDS & MOUNDS: Provide hospitality and customer service to guests while verifying tickets.

  • GARAGE & PITS: Verify credentials in garage, pit and media center locations. Provide hospitality in Plaza area. Provide security on Pit Lane, in Garages, and track access points.

  • TRAFFIC: Direct and park all infield, employee, and credentialed vehicular traffic.

  • GATES: Greet each guest upon their arrival and verify each guest’s ticket; check bags and coolers.

  • SUITES & HOSPITALITY: Verify all tickets and credentials at suites; provide customer service to all hospitality guests.
